Are you passionate about supporting youth and making a long-term impact in your community? We’re currently seeking committed and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors.

Our Mission: To provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment that fosters resilience, accountability, and hope in young youth facing complex mental health, behavioural, and developmental challenges.

Role of the Board: Our Board of Directors provides strategic oversight, financial stewardship, and community advocacy to ensure that Huron House can continue to meet the evolving needs of youth in our region.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Bring a passion for youth mental health, community service, and equity
  • Have expertise in areas such as:
    1. Mental health or health care
    2. Finance, law, or governance
    3. Child welfare or youth justice
    4. Fundraising, communications, or public relations
  • Can actively contribute time, talent, and connections to further the mission

Commitment Required:

  • Term Length: 2 years (renewable)
  • Meetings: 12 board meetings per year (1.5 hours each, typically on last Wednesday evening)
  • Events: Attend annual fundraising events and strategic planning sessions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate the organization’s performance, finances, and impact
  • Ensure legal, ethical, and policy compliance
  • Provide oversight on risk, quality, and strategic planning
  • Champion our mission in your networks and community
