We deeply appreciate the generous support for Huron House, from financial donations to the valuable time and expertise shared, and even the thoughtful gestures of those who add a little extra to their weekly shopping to donate to us. Such contributions are essential, covering our daily needs and expenses, and ensuring that our mission to support youth mental health in the Sarnia-Lambton community can endure for the future.
Financial Donations
At Huron House, we are dedicated to providing youth and their families with compassionate support, guidance, and effective therapeutic programs. Despite operating with limited resources, our commitment and the hard work of our program delivery and administrative teams remain unwavering. While we do receive government funding, it falls short of fully covering our needs. Therefore, we depend on the generosity of our donors to sustain and enhance our efforts in supporting youth mental health in the Sarnia-Lambton community. Your financial contribution truly makes a difference.
Attend an Event
Every year, Huron House hosts two major fundraising events — the Pasta Fest at the Dante Club and the Run/Walk/Skate/Bike event at Mike Weir Park. These gatherings are not just about raising funds; they’re about community, fun, and supporting a vital cause. Whether you can attend both or just one, your participation helps us continue our mission. Please consider joining us at these events to aid in our fundraising efforts for supporting youth mental health and wellbeing in the Sarnia-Lambton area. Your support makes all the difference.
Pasta Fest 2024
Join Us for Mobile Pasta Fest 2024! Enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by the Dante Club and support Huron House Boys’ Home at the same time.
37th Annual Run/Walk/Skate/Bike
Since 1987, the “Boys’ Home Run” has been a feature of Bright’s Grove every Father’s Day. It has grown to include a 10k-timed road race, a 5k-timed run, a 5k walk, a 7k bike ride, and a free children’s adventure course. All proceeds from this event stay within our local community and benefit the youth of Huron House.
Make a Donation
At Huron House, your support can make a profound difference in the lives of the boys we serve. Please consider donating essential personal hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste, as well as men’s socks and underwear to meet our boys’ daily needs. Additionally, we welcome donations of sporting equipment and men’s clothing. Gift cards are also appreciated.
To receive a tax receipt for your donation, please provide the sales receipt along with your name, address, and contact information. Your generous contributions are crucial in enhancing the daily life and well-being of the youth at Huron House, helping us continue our mission of care and support.
Donations of the above items can be dropped off at 2473 Lakeshore Rd between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
Host an Event
We warmly invite individuals, businesses, and community groups who are passionate about making a difference to organize a fundraising event in support of Huron House. If you’d like a representative to attend your event and/or speak about the impactful work we do, please reach out to us at [email protected], and we’ll make every effort to accommodate your request. Additionally, we can supply informational materials, signage, and assistance with written promotions, including providing our logo to help publicize your event. Your initiative in hosting an event can significantly contribute to our mission and support the vital services we provide.
Volunteer
At Huron House, we deeply appreciate the invaluable contributions of our volunteers, both past and present, whose dedication has been pivotal to our success. Whether you’re interested in a long-term volunteer commitment or just looking to contribute a few hours of your time, we offer a variety of opportunities to fit your schedule. We would be thrilled to welcome you to our team!
Advocacy
Children in Ontario are waiting too long for the mental health services they need. Right now, there are 30,000 children and youth from across Ontario on wait lists for mental health care. In some parts of the province, children and youth wait up to 2.5 years for mental health services.
We are proud members of Children’s Mental Health Ontario and supporters of their #kidscantwait campaign. For more information on how you can lend your voice to support youth mental health, visit cmho.org.
