Since 1987, the “Boys’ Home Run” has been a feature of Bright’s Grove every Father’s Day. We had to cancel in 2020 but are back for an exciting virtual 2021 edition!
Dates: Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. Pick the date and time that works best for you.
Cost: Early Bird Prices until April 4 are $30 for a single distance, $45 for challenge combinations of two distances (see below). Price increase of $5 per event April 5.
Distances: Kids 200m and 1km (free), 5km, 7km, 10km, 20km, 40km

We’ll have all the distances you’ve come to expect from Run/Walk/Skate/Bike, but with a twist – sign up for the distance of your choice and complete it however you like – run, walk, skate or bike. Run the 20km? Bike the 5km? It’s all up to you.
Also unique for this year, if you’re looking to push yourself a little further, sign up for one of this year’s challenges and complete two distances during the event period.
- Lakeshore Challenge: 5km+10km
- Grove Challenge: 10km+20km
- Huron Challenge: 20km+40km
Each challenge participant will receive a Run/Walk/Skate/Bike branded gift to commemorate their achievement. Spaces in each challenge are limited so sign up early!
- corporate – get your office or shop together and enter as a group of 4-10. For an extra incentive, challenge another business to see who can get the fastest total times, or who can raise the most funds.
- parent/child – this option is available for teams of 2. You can complete the same or different distances.
- family/friends – any combination of 4-10 people you know.
- Children in free events can be members of this team, but do not count toward the minimum number of four team members.
Group members in all categories to benefit from a team discount of 5%.
For $2 teams can have their name added to their t-shirts if ordered before May 9.
Add a voucher from John’s Restaurant for $10 that is good for dine in or takeout for:
Bacon or Sausage & Eggs, home fries, toast and coffee or juice OR
pancakes with your choice of bacon or sausage, coffee and juice.
Redeemable during the event period with the exception of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
$1 from each voucher redeemed will be donated back to Huron House. One voucher per participant.
Rather than collecting donations and pledges in person, to limit contact, participants are encouraged to set up online fundraising pages they can share with friends and family. A link to create your page will be available once you complete your registration, and you can log back in to Race Roster at any time to access it.
All paid registrations include both a physical and virtual event kit. The physical kit will include your event t-shirt along with some other goodies, and the virtual kit will include a printable race bib, a finisher’s certificate (generated by Race Roster), printable finish line tape to break as you earn your personal best, and more.
Kit pickup times and location will be announced at a later date. Virtual kit contents will be emailed prior to Mother’s Day and then on an ongoing basis.
